Compass Group Knocks Out Hunger in Charlotte

Associates from the corporate office donated over 12 tons of food, making it the largest food collection ever given by Compass Group to Loaves & Fishes, a local food pantry.

Food donation bins were placed at Compass Group's head office for over two weeks. Canned goods were collected by teams who competed to collect the most amount of food and money.

Overall, Compass Group donated 24,868 lbs of food - over twelve tons!

Items included 1,843 jars of peanut butter, 1,205 bottles of juice, 5,564 cans of fruit, 3,229 cans of soup, 209 cans of meat, and 2,620 cans of · Pork and Beans. Over $9,000 in money was raised.

Furthermore, Compass Group presented a check for $5,000 to Loaves and Fishes at their annual fundraising event, the Cheeseball.

Beverly Howard, executive director for Loaves & Fishes summed it up best. "With this food and money, nearly 2,300 people will be provided with a full week's worth of nutritional groceries! While we are truly overwhelmed by these record setting results, we are not surprised by Compass Group and its employees who have shown their enthusiasm and generosity time and time again."
