NEW YORK, NY (September 6, 2007) - The Sports Museum of America (SmA) has selected Restaurant Associates (RA), a division of Compass Group, The Americas, as the exclusive catering partner for the new venue.
Scheduled to open in April 2008, SmA is the nation's first and only interactive, multi-media attraction dedicated to the history, grandeur and significance of all of sports. A world leader in catering and cultural dining services, RA will bring their culinary expertise to catered events in this unique space.
Reflecting an innovative vision, SmA will have a clean, contemporary and dedicated event space with large windows affording guests breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor. Along with RAs' uncompromising attention to detail and passion for quality, guests in the 8,000 square foot space will have a truly memorable experience.

SmA, located on Bowling Green at 26 Broadway in the Canyon of Heroes, is part of the significant revitalization movement for Lower Manhattan. "Not only will it contribute to New York City tourism by introducing a vibrant, cultural family attraction, but it will also attract people looking for a special place to hold an event. Restaurant Associates is looking forward to bringing our distinctive service and innovative cuisine to all who choose to have their event at SmA," added Cattani.

In addition to the dedicated event space, RA will cater and customize menus for events in the Heisman Trophy gallery (a re-creation of the award's former home at the Downtown Athletic Club) and home to the original trophy and the tribute to its winners, and the Billie Jean King Women's Sports Hall of Fame, the first hall of fame dedicated to honoring the achievements of legendary female athletes and coaches.
"SmA will also be home to special events throughout the sports calendar year, including athlete appearances, press conferences, lectures and speaker series, product launches in our 4000 sq. ft. retail store, and other sports- related happenings, many of which will be open to the general public," added Ahuja.
