The safety and health of our associates and guests is always Compass Groups highest priority. In response to the H1N1 Flu pandemic (formerly known as Swine Flu) that surfaced in April 2009, Compass Groups crisis committee convened and has taken the following measures across all our lines of business:
Our sector-specific pandemic plans have been reviewed and updated to address the requirements of this specific influenza. We have created a H1N1 toolkit which includes a corporate pandemic crisis management action plan; updated infection control process and procedures; business continuity plans; HR and Travel policies; infection control product buying guide; and a guide that explains the proper use of infection control chemicals in our operations to help to decrease the spread of influenza in the workplace. We have reviewed and re-trained all our associates on cough etiquette, proper hand washing and other hygiene procedures. In areas where an outbreak has been identified, we have instituted a daily protocol to identify associates who may be ill so they may stay home to recover. We have implemented a strict ill-associate exclusion policy for H1N1 based on CDC recommendations. Working with our vendors, our supply chain has been reviewed in anticipation of potential interrupted supply availability and delivery.
Compass Group has a robust plan for continuity throughout a prolonged crisis. We are monitoring news outlets, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Web sites for the most current news regarding the H1N1 flu pandemic.
